Frequently Asked Questions

The Head Spa Sanctuary

  • What Should I Wear To My Treatment?

Wear comfortable clothing. Minimal makeup is encouraged. We will provide a robe, comfortable socks and even a blanket menu to keep you comfortable throughout your treatment.

  • How Do I Get To Your Studios?

We are conveniently located off of 485 in Ayrsley near the Piedmont Social House/Cinemas. When you arrive at 8809 Lenox Pointe Drive, enter in Suite C- Collective Studios. Follow around through to the back where there are stairs that lead you to our Studios, 200 & 207.

  • Will I Be In A Private Room Or A Public Room While Getting My Head Spa Treatment Done?

Both of our Studios are private rooms where only one Head Spa treatment and consultation are done at a time.

  • Can I Schedule Two Head Spa’s At The Same Time?

Yes! We have TWO Head Spa studios across the hall from each other that are both running daily! If you are booking with a friend or for a special event please make us aware! These are great for a ladies day or a date night/day!

  • Are Your Products Safe For Sensitive Skin, Oily Skin, Dry/Falkiness?

We exclusively use Oway Organic products and ingredients. We believe in non-toxic, holistic hair and skincare. Each of our treatments will begin with a microscopic

consultation analysis of your scalp, followed by a custom-tailored, hand blended treatment just for you.

    • For those with sensitive, reddened, irritated skin we will use Oway’s Soothing line of dermatologically tested products that will soothe, decongest, reduce redness, replenish lipids and normalize.

    • For those with oily skin, we will use Oway’s Excess Sebum line that will detoxify, dermo-purify and balance the state of the scalp prone to seborrhoea imbalances. This line has deep rebalancing and anti-inflammatory action.

    • Dry/Flakiness? We will use Oway’s Purifying line that purifies and regulates along with its refreshing and sanitizing action. This line regenerates skin subject to scaling, reactivates the scalp’s microcirculation, and relieves itching and burning typical of skin with dandruff.

  • Do You Use Steam In Your Treatments?

NO! We do not use ‘steam’ in our Head Spa treatments! We exclusively use Mist for all of our treatments. Before explaining the difference, lets first talk about why steam/mist would be used in a Head Spa treatment. As the foundation of healthy hair, a clean, unclogged scalp is key to optimizing the hair’s natural luster, resilience and strength. In order for treatment to be absorbed into hair, it’s crucial that the follicle is open and receptive. Gently heating the hair is the most effective way to encourage treatments to penetrate the follicle and sustain results. This aspect of heat is why steam and mist are so imperative to the treatment process.

Steam is essentially the conversion of water at an extremely high temperature which can adversely affect the structure, strength and integrity of the hair. Not only can this negate treatment benefits and compromise color intensity it can cause damage to hair. Mist on the other hand is an ultrasonically created at a much lower temperature.

Mist opens up pores with the same capability as steam while doing far less damage. Additionally, damaged hair does not receive treatment as well, so this process is crucial for repairing and restoring hair.

Furthermore, the technology we have chosen to utilize even offers a Cooling Mist. By using a cooling mist, the hair follicle seals itself shut, locking in treatments for longer lasting benefits. Cooling mist also gives a revitalizing sensation to your scalp, further enhancing that spa-like experience.

  • Will I Leave With Wet Hair?

All Head Spa treatments include a Fluff/towel dry. We do offer styling add on options! If you would like a finished blow dry, the addition of curls or a silk press, these can be added onto your head spa treatment.

  • Can I Get A Head Spa If My Hair Has Been Color Treated?

Yes, all of our ingredients are safe for any kind of treated hair! With that being said, we recommend building in a week buffer between any kind of chemical service and your Head Spa appointent because there is a chance that the color can lift during the detox process. Additionally, we do recommend waiting at least a week AFTER your Head spa treatment before doing any kind of chemical treatments. It is not ideal to apply chemicals to a freshly cleaned scalp.

  • Can You Do A Head Spa For Any Type Of Hair?

Our specialists are experienced with all types of hair whether thick, wavy, coarse, curly, thin etc. The primary focus of a Head Spa is your scalp so as long as we can access your scalp, you can enjoy a Head Spa treatment.

We only ask you to make sure that we have proper access to the scalp. We cannot perform services on customers with extensions, braids, or sew-ins as these obstruct access to the scalp and pores.
